Hi there,
This really sounds stupid but i would like to know how to free some space from the server. I tried to truncate/drop alot of tables(big tables with more than 1 million record) but still end up the disk space still the same. What am i missing here? From the documents that i see, the high water mark will reset after i truncate the table. I also did try to use
ALTER TABLE table DEALLOCATE UNUSED, but still nothing happened. Can anyone give me some hint or what to look for in order to free hard disk space. Thanks alot...

Truncate / drop will release the space. But only within the datafiles. In other words, the allocated datafile size remains the same. You need to manually reduce the datafile size.
Search the board for examples.
