Hi ALl,

Very soon we are going to upgrade our existing production system from 9i Rel 2(Non-RAC) to 10g.
I would like to know what are the options available to upgrade it to 10g Clusters environment with mininum or no downtime and how to go about it.
If some one has already done it please share your experience with me

Thanks in advance.

You should use the search features available here.
Just a few postings down,

The difference is
>>options available to upgrade it to 10g Clusters environment
All information you need is available in 10g upgrade manual.
Do you already have a 10g RAC?

Thanks Mahesh for your reply,
Infact i was going thru your other response for similar Q. No I donot have 10g RAC installed. First we have to get the server ready then migrate the database or upgrade. What is the best solution for upgrading to 10g with mininal/nodown time.
We are haveing 270G of production data.
Thanks

how minimal is 'minimal' for you? Smile
It all depends on your complexity.
As said all information is in documentation.
This could be a path.
First upgrade to 10g single instance in the present node.
Install, configure a 10g RAC with your customizations.
Since both OS are same, just do a file copy (to RAC) and create a
database in single instance mode.
Edit the parameter files and create/mount other instances in other nodes.

Sorry i didnot mention that we are currently using Sun Solaris 8 and the new servers would be Solaris 10.
Thanks Again

Still, it is same OS.
It should work.
Even if it is not, not problem. You can use transportable tablespaces.
