Thanks for that. just one more linked question.
If I wish to increase my redo log groups, I presume that I will have to delete and recreate the log group.
Can this be done online also.

As Frank indicated, redo log files can be added online.

If you are asking how to increase the size of your current logs, you'll have to either shut the database down or create new redo logs groups with larger size and then drop the old redo log groups. The old redo log groups can be dropped safely when their status is INVALID in V$LOG.
