In 10g can I have a second destination on a different server than the primary? I currently have the Standard Edition. If so what would be the script to do it. I've read the documentation regarding log_archive_dest_n, however it does not specify edition specific info.

Thanks

Nita

Yes, you can have a different location and log_archive_dest_n is the right parameter to look into.

And here is the complete syntax to do this:

log_archive_dest_2 = 'service = db2'

In above, db2 is the net service name which you need to configure and it must point to an another database running on other box and on that box the RFS process will recieve and write the archive log to the archive destination of that box.
